Mookti Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Mookti, you agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree to these Terms, you may not use our Services.

2. Eligibility

Age Requirements:

• You must be at least 13 years old to use Mookti. If you are between 13 and 17, you must have the consent of a parent or guardian.
• If you are located in India, you must be at least 18 years old to create an account or use Mookti. We ask you to confirm your age when you sign up or sign in from India. If you tell us you are under 18, we will pause your account; you can still download a copy of your data or delete your account.
• By using our Services, you represent that you meet the age requirement that applies to you.

3. Account Registration

To use certain features, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current information
• Maintain the security of your password
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorized use
• Be responsible for all activity under your account

4. Academic Integrity

Prohibited Uses: You may NOT use Mookti to:

• Complete graded assignments or exams without proper authorization
• Submit AI-generated content as your own work
• Circumvent academic integrity policies
• Violate your institution's honor code

Intended Use: Mookti is designed for:

• Learning and understanding concepts
• Practice and skill development
• Study assistance and tutoring
• Educational support with proper disclosure

5. Payment Terms

Subscription Plans: We offer the following subscription plans:

• Free: $0
  • Keep your account, learning history, and access to content shared with you
  • Includes a limited allowance of Ellen credits (currently 30 credits per rolling 30-day period) on our efficient model, and one learning-path creation per period
  • Premium models and features such as study plans and study guides require a subscription or an active trial
• Basic Plan: $5/month
  • 100 credits per month
  • Cancel anytime
• Plus Plan: $20/month
  • 440 credits per month
  • All Basic Plan features, plus access to additional AI models
  • Cancel anytime
• Pro Plan: $50/month
  • 1,150 credits per month
  • All Plus Plan features, plus access to our most capable AI models
  • Cancel anytime

Annual Billing: Where offered at checkout, the Basic, Plus, and Pro Plans are also available with annual billing at 20% off the equivalent monthly rate: Basic at $48/year, Plus at $192/year, and Pro at $480/year.

Credit Top-Ups: Each $12 top-up is a one-time, non-renewing purchase that adds 250 credits to your account. We use your current rolling Free allowance or active trial, subscription, or Semester Pass allocation first, then use purchased top-up credits. Top-up credits do not expire with a rolling or billing period and remain available after a trial, subscription, or Semester Pass ends. They add eligible metered credits only: they do not change your plan or unlock models or features, so Free-plan limits still apply when you use retained top-up credits on Free.

Semester Passes: Where offered on the web, you can purchase a non-renewing pass for an exact term between one month and one year at 10% below the equivalent monthly price. A Semester Pass ends on the date shown at checkout and does not renew automatically. Semester Pass purchase is not offered in Mookti's App Store apps, although an existing pass can be used there.

Credit allowances and the specific AI models included with each plan are described on our pricing page and may be updated from time to time; material reductions to a paid plan's allowances will be communicated in advance.

Direct Web Trial:

• Every eligible new account can start a non-renewing 30-day free trial of the Basic plan directly with Mookti on the web
• No credit card is required for this direct web trial
• The trial includes the Basic plan's features and monthly credit allowance
• We'll email you before your trial ends
• When the trial ends, your account moves to the Free tier described above, including its limited monthly allowance of Ellen credits
• No automatic charges without your explicit consent

App Store Introductory Trial:

• Eligible customers using Mookti's iPhone, iPad, or Mac App Store app can start a one-month free trial of Basic Monthly through Apple
• Apple shows the localized monthly renewal price and asks you to confirm before the trial begins; Apple may require a payment method for your Apple Account
• The App Store trial automatically renews as a paid monthly subscription through Apple unless you cancel before renewal
• Eligibility is determined by both your Mookti account and Apple's introductory-offer rules for the Mookti Plans subscription group
• You can manage or cancel the App Store trial through Settings → Subscription or your Apple Account's App Store subscription settings

Billing:

• Web prices are stated in U.S. dollars unless checkout says otherwise. App Store prices are displayed and charged by Apple in the currency shown in the purchase flow
• Web purchases are processed by Stripe. Purchases in Mookti's iPhone, iPad, and Mac App Store apps are processed through your Apple Account
• Paid subscriptions automatically renew at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, depending on your plan) at the then-current price for your plan, unless you cancel before the renewal date
• By subscribing, you authorize the applicable payment provider to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel
• We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' advance notice; price changes never take effect mid-cycle and apply only from your next renewal
• Any price lock that applies to your subscription will be honored for its full duration

Cancellation & Refunds:

• Cancel anytime from Settings → Subscription. Web-billed subscriptions are managed through the Stripe billing portal; Apple-billed subscriptions are managed through your Apple Account's App Store subscription settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; you retain access until then
• Except where required by applicable law, web subscription payments are non-refundable; we may grant exceptions in extraordinary circumstances at our sole discretion
• Contact help@mookti.com about web-purchase refund requests. App Store purchase refund requests are handled by Apple under Apple's refund policies

6. AI-Powered Services & Disclaimers

AI Accuracy: Mookti uses artificial intelligence to provide educational assistance. However:

• AI-generated content may contain errors or inaccuracies
• You should verify important information independently
• We do not guarantee the accuracy of AI responses
• AI should supplement, not replace, your learning

Your Responsibility:

• You are responsible for how you use AI-generated content
• Always cite AI assistance when required by your institution
• Use critical thinking to evaluate AI responses

7. Privacy & Data

Your privacy is important to us. Our Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your data. Key points:

• Data Collection: We collect information you provide and usage data
• FERPA Compliance: We comply with student privacy regulations
• Data Security: We use industry-standard security measures
• Your Rights: You can access, correct, or delete your data

8. Intellectual Property

Our Content: The Mookti platform, including all content, features, and functionality, is owned by Mookti, Inc. and protected by intellectual property laws.

Your Content: You retain ownership of content you submit. By using Mookti, you grant us a license to use your content to provide and improve our Services.

AI-Generated Content: Content generated by our AI is provided for your educational use. You may use it for personal learning but should follow academic integrity guidelines.

9. Prohibited Conduct

You may NOT:

• Violate any laws or regulations
• Infringe on others' intellectual property rights
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to our systems
• Interfere with or disrupt our Services
• Use our Services for commercial purposes without authorization
• Share your account with others
• Scrape or automate access to our Services

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to our Services at any time for:

• Violation of these Terms
• Fraudulent or illegal activity
• Abuse of our Services
• Any other reason at our discretion

You may terminate your account at any time through your account settings.

11. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

"AS IS" Service: Mookti is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied.

No Educational Guarantees: We do not guarantee any specific educational outcomes, grades, or results from using our Services.

Limitation of Liability: To the maximum extent permitted by law, Mookti shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of our Services.

12. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Mookti, Inc., its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from your use of our Services or violation of these Terms.

13. Dispute Resolution

Governing Law: These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, without regard to conflict of law principles.

Mandatory Arbitration: Any dispute arising from these Terms or our Services shall be resolved through binding arbitration, except where prohibited by law.

Class Action Waiver: You agree to resolve disputes individually and waive any right to participate in class actions.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via:

• Email to your registered address
• Prominent notice on our website
• In-app notification

Continued use of our Services after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
