Uploading course material
Bring your syllabus, readings, slides, and lecture recordings into one library.
What you can upload
Just about anything a class throws at you: PDFs, Word docs, slides, plain text and Markdown, images, audio, and video — up to 200 MB per file. Lecture recordings are transcribed automatically, with timestamps, so you (and Ellen) can jump to the moment that matters. Uploading and storage are always free; transcribing video uses credits, audio doesn't.
How to upload
- Open + New and choose Upload files…, or drag files straight onto your Library.
- Drop whole folders if you like — up to 300 files at a time. Everything lands as one flat list in your Library, so name files clearly.
- Uploading from a notebook or a tree attaches the files there too.
How Ellen uses your material
On the free tier your uploads are yours to read and organize, but Ellen can't reference them in chat yet. On paid plans and the trial you can discuss your documents with her, and on Plus and Pro she searches across everything you've uploaded — citing the exact passage she's working from.
